The Houston Texans and star Quarterback Deshaun Watson saga continues to take new twists and turns. First, it was the rumored trades between the Texans and other NFL teams surrounding Watson. Then it was Watson formally demanding a trade and seemingly telling Houston that he does not and will not suit up for them if he is not traded. Then came the first few sexual assault allegations against Watson where the woman accusing Watson were being represented by a friend of the Texans owner as their lawyer. Now, there have been a total of 22 sexual assault allegations against Deshaun Watson.

At its core, this is a story that we may never know what is actually going on. Deshaun Watson continues to fight for his innocence as new allegations seemingly come to light each and every week. It is definitely fishy that the Texans owner has a lawyer friend who just so happens to represent a couple of the women who have come forward about their experiences with Deshaun Watson. The fact that Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston, a team and ownership group that remains unwilling to trade him makes it conceivable that the Texans ownership may go to these types of lengths to either keep Deshaun Watson in Houston any way he can.

If this is in fact the case, it is quite possibly the grimiest thing to ever happen in the history of sports. It is also quite dumb… If Houston is looking to ruin Watson’s career via sexual assault allegations, it only drives down his trade value in the future. If Deshaun Watson is a member of the Texans this upcoming season and these sexual assault allegations turn out to be faulty, then there is 0% chance that Watson would put on that uniform ever again. On the flip side, there is a 100% chance the Texans would have to trade him for pennies on the dollar.

On the other hand, 22 allegations is a lot of allegations. I can see how individuals could think that the first 2 or 3 allegations could be fishy due to the Texans ownership’s relationship with the victims lawyer. 22 allegations though? There has to be something to this.

For those who are still unaware of what is going on, let me break it down for you. Apparently, Deshaun Watson reached out to women via social media. He would ask them to come to his house for a massage. During said massage, Watson is alleged to have touched these victims in an inappropriate manner. He has asked them to do things that they do not want to do and has been rather creepy for lack of a better word. The victim count is up to a total of 22 women who have had similar experiences and an official investigation is ongoing.

Again, Watson continues to fight for his innocence in these allegations and there has been no disciplinary actions taken at this time. The NFL season will kick off as usual in September and it is unknown whether Watson will be playing. If he is playing, it will be interesting to see if he is in a Texans uniform.
