Friday Pick ’Em — Week 12 NFL Picks

Week 11 of the NFL season boasted some of the highest Over/Under totals of the season. I live by the motto that many gamblers do… ‘Life is too short to bet the under.’ So naturally, the under hit in most of the week 11 slate. Especially in the early games.

That was reflected in my week 11 results… Not the best, but not the worst week of results in my short career predicting NFL Spreads and Over/Unders.

13 Games (Not including Thursday Night)

Point Spreads — 5/13 (38%)

Over/ Under — 5/13 (38%)

Both Spread & O/U — 1/13 (8%)

Thanksgiving Day came and went with two games that were close through 3rd quarter but ended up two score games or more. The Houston Texans took it to the Detroit Lions by a score of 41–25. Deshaun Watson had another great game, but Will Fuller was the star of the show.

The Washington Football Team made a statement against their division rival, Dallas Cowboys in Dallas with a 41–16 rout.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens game was moved to Sunday due to Covid concerns. It is now reported that star quarterback for the Ravens, Lamar Jackson has tested positive. The Game for Sunday is in jeopardy even though it was already postponed. I will leave that game off my list of picks this week, but if you want to see how I thought it would turn out… check out my Thanksgiving Special Picks.

Here are my results for the two games that did go down on Thursday.

Texans -3 | Under 51.5 — I hit with the Texans pick, but the over hit with ease.

Dallas -3 | Under 46 — I had faith in the Cowboys after their big win last week… They let me down big time.

I took the Under in both games which was a mistake… 1–1 on spreads and 0–2 on my Over/ Under selections for Thanksgiving Day. I hope everyone enjoyed spending time with loved ones, eating good food, and watching football.

Here are my Week 12 NFL predictions.

Spreads and Over/ Under Numbers are Courtesy of ESPN as of Friday, 11/27/2020.

Early Games:

Raiders @ Falcons

- Spread: LV -3

- O/U: 54

Chargers @ Bills

The Raiders are coming off their loss in primetime to the defending champs. They put up yet another good fight after beating them in the first meeting. Derek Carr and that offense have found their groove, and the running game is as good as anybody’s. I like the Raiders in this one to handle the Falcons easily.

Raiders -3 | Under 54

Chargers @ Bills

- Spread: BUF -5.5

- O/U: 53

The poor Chargers had a promising start to the season but now find themselves sitting at 3–7. They keep finding ways to lose close games and I think this game against Buffalo will be a bit different… No, the Chargers won’t win, they just won’t lose by only one possession. I’m taking Josh Allen coming off a bye to pick apart this Charger secondary.

Bills -5.5 | Over 53

Giants @ Bengals

- Spread: NYG -6

- O/U: 44

The New York Football Giants can jump into a tie for first place in the division with a win over the Joe-Burrow-less Bengals. I like their chances. Giants have looked like a semi-competent team the past few weeks and I expect it to continue in Cincinnati.

Giants -6 | Under 44

Titans @ Colts

- Spread: IND -3

- O/U: 51

This looks like the game of the week on paper. Both offenses have shown their ups and downs. However, Indianapolis does boast a better and more accomplished defense. I like their chances with how that unit has been playing.

Colts -3 | Under 51

Panthers @ Vikings

- Spread: MIN -3.5

- O/U: 51

The Panthers are coming off a shutout victory over the Lions while the Vikings are reeling after an embarrassing loss to the Cowboys. This should be a tightly contested game. I like the line where it is. However, I think the Vikings handle business with relative ease.

Vikings -3.5 | Under 51

Cardinals @ Patriots

- Spread: ARI -2

- O/U: 49.5

The poor Patriots give their fans some playoff hope and the following week they put up a clunker. The Patriots will not make the playoffs this season for the first time in god knows how long. Belichick needs Brady and it almost looks like Brady needs Belichick… I like Kyler’s chances against New England

Arizona -2 | Over 49.5

Dolphins @ Jets

- Spread: MIA -7

- O/U: 44.5

Tua got absolutely shut down in Mile High last week. So much so that he was benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Tua should start again this week, but the Jets have hung tough in recent weeks. I like the Jets to cover the 7 points against the Dolphins.

Jets +7 | Under 44.5

Browns @ Jaguars

- Spread: CLE -7

- O/U: 49.5

The Browns are still playing well to the surprise of absolutely everyone. They were supposed to come back to the pack a bit and we should all be questioning Baker Mayfield’s competency at this point in the season. However, they continue to run the ball down opposing teams throats and they will look to do that again against Jacksonville who is forced to start Mike Glennon at QB.

Browns -7 | Under 49.5

Afternoon Games:

Saints @ Broncos

- Spread: NO -6

- O/U: 43.5

Taysom Hill will be under center for the 2nd straight week. He looked okay in his first start, and the Broncos defense is nothing to write home about. I like the versatility that Taysom brings not only for the Saints, but for fantasy football managers. The Saints offensive with a healthy Michael Thomas and their defense seemingly rounding into form is a winning recipe for the saints and the under.

Saints -6 | Under 43.5

49ers @ Rams

- Spread: LAR -6.5

- O/U: 45.5

Los Angeles has been playing great football lately. I expect that to continue this week against a San Francisco team that is still riddled with injuries. That Rams defense is too dominating for whoever is under center for the 49ers.

Rams -6.5 | Over 45.5

Chiefs @ Buccaneers

- Spread: KC -3.5

- O/U: 55.5

Tom Brady and the Bucs have had some tough matchups through the first 11 weeks of the season. They face another challenge against the Chiefs this week. Luckily for Brady and Bucs fans, it is not in primetime. Brady has been struggling in primetime all season long. Even with the timing of the game presumably favoring Brady and the Bucs, I am still taking the Chiefs to come out on top.

Chiefs -3.5 | Over 55.5

Sunday Night Football:

Bears @ Packers

- Spread: GB -8.5

- O/U: 45.5

Mitch Trubisky looks to be back in his starting QB role here in week 12. A huge divisional matchup between the Bears and Packers and Lambeau Field. The spread is a bit high for me. The Bears usually put up a good fight in these rivalry games. I like the Bears to cover the spread, but not getting my hopes up for a victory…. Yet

Bears +8.5 | Under 45.5

Monday Night Football:

Seahawks @ Eagles

- Spread: SEA -5

- O/U: 50

Mike’s Stone-Cold Lock of the Week

Seahawks -5 | Over 50
