With the 2020 NBA Draft less than 2 weeks away, this Draft Class is still being described by media members as; “top heavy” “Weak” “Boom or bust” amongst other things.

Can you blame them?

Due to the pandemic, there has been limited opportunity for teams to evaluate these talented young athletes in person…

Even with this in mind, I do not put much stock into these accusations. It seems like every year leading up to the draft we hear those key ‘Buzz words’. Typically, there is a clear #1 pick. Even a clear first 3 or 5 picks to start the draft.

This year is a bit different, like everything else in 2020. While this class of draftees does not boast the likes of the Zion Williamson’s or LeBron James’ of the world, it does offer plenty of potential. The uncertainty of this draft will have us looking back in a year or two to identify the guys who did not live up to their expectations and the ones that blossom into young stars of the NBA. Otherwise known as Steals and Busts of the Draft…
